Curriculum
WIA utilizes the Virginia's Standards of Learning
(SOL) and Fairfax County Public School's Curriculum by using
innovative educational materials, resources, and teaching
techniques. Our curriculum incorporates specialized Arabic,
Qur'an, and Islamic Studies. Top

Achievements:
With the Grace of Allah, Washington
Islamic Academy has made tremendous progress since its
inception 5 years ago. Within WIA's nurturing educational
environment, its students have surpassed the national average
in standardized testing and have succeeded in developing
strong Muslim identities; that will help make them a role
model to society. Top

Being well prepared in math and
science will allow our students to compete in the world of
technology, medicine, and engineering. Here are some
highlights of our students' performance in these areas:
- WIA's Math and Science Scores were consistently above
the national average.
- Our 4th-6th grade students
were over one grade level above the national average.
- Many in our 5th and 6th grade
class scored in the "Beyond High School"
level.
- The 6th graders' grade equivalent in math
and science was near the 11th grade level!

Being proficient in the English
language will allow our students to excel in the areas of
communications, journalism, marketing, and business. Here
are some highlights of our students' performance in these
areas:
- WIA's Language and Reading Scores were consistently
above the national average.
- Our 4th-6th grade students
were over one grade level above the national average.
- Many in our 5th and 6th grade
class scored in the "Beyond High School"
level.
- The 6th graders' grade equivalent in
